Mosquito

The tiny little mosquito drinks our blood through a long sharp proboscis which it jabs through the skin. In doing so it spreads blood-borne diseases from person to person and these diseases kill people all the time. Usually these people are very poor and the people have little access to the best medicine.

Mosquitoes have killed more people, many more people, than all the wars in history. Despite recent efforts nearly a million people will die this year as a result of mosquito bites, the vast majority of them tiny children under five. They’ve been dying while you’ve been reading this.
